More Than $88,000 Invested in Communities as AmeriCU Charitable Foundation Kicks Off 2026
NORTH COUNTRY – APRIL 13, 2026: In just the first quarter of 2026, the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation has already made a meaningful impact across its footprint, supporting more than 70 nonprofit organizations, contributing $88,753 in charitable donations, and investing 312 volunteer hours into communities where AmeriCU members live, work, and play.
From January through March, the Foundation along with AmeriCU team members in the North Country supported local nonprofits through volunteer efforts and community initiatives, including the Keeseville Recess Reboot, which provided new equipment to help students stay active, and support for the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County. The Foundation also invested in nonprofit partners addressing health care, education, veterans services, and animal welfare including Samaritan Medical Center, United Way of Northern New York, Zoo New York, Jefferson County SPCA, and Ogdensburg’s Promise.
“As I look at the incredible organizations we’ve been able to support in just the first quarter of this year, I feel both hopeful and energized for what we can accomplish together in the months ahead,” said Vanessa Szwejbka, AVP of Community Relations and Executive Director of the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation. “Every grant and donation represents a neighbor served, a program strengthened, and a positive step forward for the places we call home.”
While the first quarter highlights a strong start to the year, AmeriCU’s community engagement is far from finished. The Foundation will continue partnering with local nonprofits throughout 2026 to help create lasting, positive change across its entire footprint.
