EAST LANSING, Mich. — Goodbuy, a groundbreaking community commerce platform, was named winner of Reseda Group’s inaugural Startup Pitch Competition held during the 2025 Reseda Summit in September in Detroit.
The summit connected financial industry experts with the latest technologies and strategies taking place in the ever-evolving fintech space, and the competition was new addition to the annual two-day event hosted by the award-winning credit union service organization powered MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU). The Startup Pitch Competition offered Goodbuy and five other fintech startups — Hive Technologies, Instarails, KeySavvy, Remynt, and Savvi AI — the opportunity to showcase their game-changing solutions for a chance to win a $20,000 grant.
Goodbuy stood out as the fan favorite at this year’s Reseda Summit, with its high-tech platform built for easy implementation that enables credit unions to offer exclusive, values-aligned benefits to their members while providing local businesses with a powerful new marketing channel.
“We’re honored to be recognized by Reseda Group among such an inspiring lineup of fintech innovators,” said Cara Oppenheimer, Goodbuy Co-Founder and CEO. “Our mission has always been to help people shop their values while supporting local businesses, and winning Reseda Summit’s first pitch competition reinforces the growing importance of community-driven commerce in the future of financial services.”
This year’s Reseda Summit drew nearly 200 fintech founders, financial institution executives and board members, and credit union leaders from across the country for two days of networking, learning and collaboration with Reseda Group’s dynamic ecosystem of products, companies and partners. In addition to the pitch competition, live demos and three new breakout sessions, Reseda Summit attendees gained insights from keynote speaker Ashley Knight, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Experian, on how financial institutions can better utilize data to drive growth.
“Reseda Summit continues to grow as a cornerstone gathering for collaboration and innovation,” said Benjamin Maxim, Chief Operating Officer at Reseda Group and Chief Technology Officer at MSUFCU. “Bringing together credit union leaders, technology partners and emerging fintech stars like Goodbuy under one roof sparks ideas and partnerships that are revolutionizing the financial services industry and member experience.”
Reseda Summit will be coming back for its fourth year on Sept. 16-17, 2026, at the Shinola Hotel in Detroit. Stay tuned for more details at resedagroup.com and visit resedasummit.com for updates.
