Del-One Federal Credit Union Doubles Lending Capacity Inside MeridianLink — Without Adding Headcount
DOVER, DE — September 8, 2026 — Del-One Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in Delaware, has put Valeria, an autonomous "digital workmate" from Shastic, to work reviewing its indirect auto-loan packets in production, and now expects to scale its lending output sharply without adding staff.
With a two-person funding team, down from four, Del-One believes it can nearly double its indirect production, from roughly $8 million to $15 million a month, without hiring. Valeria reviews each loan packet in under 15 minutes, the moment it arrives, and in more than 500 reviews it has never once cleared a defective packet.
Valeria works inside Del-One's existing MeridianLink system, independently reading each dealer packet, building a funding checklist, and flagging missing or inconsistent details before a funder opens the loan. It makes no credit decisions; Del-One's employees stay in control, with a fully auditable review and none of the manual work.
"With Valeria, we believe we can nearly double our indirect production, from $8 million a month to $15 million, without adding a single person," said John Chartrand, Chief Operating Officer of Del-One Federal Credit Union. "We want our people to think, not enter data."
Del-One's approach reflects a broader shift in banking. Rather than adopting AI as a single tool or ripping out core systems, institutions are beginning to build a "digital workforce" one role at a time, each agent taking on a defined piece of back-office work and scaling processing and funding without scaling headcount. Del-One has already deployed two such agents and mapped several more across lending, account opening and collections.
