Benchmark Technology Group, Inc. Renews and Expands Its SOC 2 Type 2 Certification Company is now certified for Security, Confidentiality, and Availability.

ALPHARETTA, Ga., June 25, 2024 – Benchmark Technology Group, Inc., a leading reseller serving financial institutions with managed device services and logistics, banking equipment, and cash and check automation solutions, recently renewed and expanded its System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 certification to cover two additional AICPA Trust Services Criteria. This achievement demonstrates the company’s ongoing compliance with the rigorous security standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

In May 2023, Benchmark Technology Group achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification for Security. The recent renewal of the certification for the Security criteria added compliance with two additional testing criteria: Availability and Confidentiality.

“By broadening the scope of our SOC 2 Type 2 certification, we’re showing our current and future customers how serious we are about maintaining and enhancing protocols, systems, and controls to secure data, protect our internal systems, and ensure the availability of our services and solutions,” said Preston Herrin, President, Benchmark Technology Group. SOC 2 is a technical auditing process that measures the effectiveness of an organization’s safeguards and controls over its information systems. The evaluation process can cover both customer-facing applications and a company’s systems and protocols for handling data internally.

SOC 2 Type 1 certification confirms the existence of appropriate internal controls that meet the AICPA Trust Services Criteria for security at a given point in time; SOC 2 Type 2 certification involves a more rigorous and ongoing audit that tests those processes over a period of at least six months.

As organizations face ever-evolving cyber threats, they want to know that their partners’ systems are proactively secured.

“We’ll continue to invest in our infrastructure to ensure that the organizations we serve can trust our solutions,” said Jack Malinowski, Chief Technology Officer, Benchmark Technology Group. “Financial institutions of all sizes trust us as we manage software installations for them and their clients, oversee technology conversion projects, access restricted areas in branches, handle the destruction of confidential data, and provide help desk support.” Benchmark Technology Group’s successful achievement of the SOC 2 Type 2 certification makes it a validated secure choice for financial institutions and their treasury services customers.
