Who: FinTech executive Ashley Bell, board chairman and CEO of Redemption Holding Co.

When: 10 a.m.-11 a.m. PDT Monday, May 5

Where: Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles

Details: Financial technology, or FinTech, represents just 1 percent of the $30 trillion global financial services industry, but the emerging sector shows zero signs of slowing down as it seeks to capture more market share and unveil new opportunities.

Redemption Holding Co. founder and CEO Ashley Bell is among five panelists tapped to share firsthand successes and challenges shaping the burgeoning field as part of “Money, Access, and Scale: The Evolution of Financial Technology,” during the Milken Institute's Global Conference 2025.

Financial pioneers like Bell have already proven through their successful entrepreneurial ventures that FinTech mobilizes money, digitizes capital and eliminates the traditional financial services’ barriers of time and place. Created to democratize financial opportunities, promote economic equity and remove barriers to homeownership – particularly for underrepresented communities – Bell’s Ready Life empowers individuals to achieve their economic goals without traditional credit score requirements. He is also board chairman and CEO of Redemption Holding Co., the Black-led investment group awaiting regulatory approval to finalize its purchase of Utah-based Holladay Bank & Trust and create the only Black-owned bank between Houston and Los Angeles.

Moderated by Nicole Valentine, FinTech director for Milken Institute Finance, the Monday panel will explore FinTech’s transformative power as more financial institutions embed its transcendent tools into daily practice. Other panelists include Ladi Delano, co-CEO and Advisory Board Chairman of Moove; Jalak Jobanputra, founder and managing partner of Future\Perfect Ventures; Matthew Oppenheimer, CEO of Remitly; and Trevor Traina, chief business officer of Tools for Humanity.
