The alliance combines banking connectivity (APIs) and enterprise consent management to enable banks, financial institutions, and fintechs to move from regulation to a functional, secure, and scalable Open Finance operation.
At Prometeo, we continue to strengthen our infrastructure to drive the development of Open Finance in the region. As part of this effort, we are pleased to announce our strategic alliance with Fiskil , a company specializing in enterprise solutions for Open Finance and Open Data. Together, we will offer an end-to-end solution for implementing Open Finance in Colombia, combining connectivity to financial institutions via APIs with a platform for managing consent, data provider operations, directory integration, and monitoring.
Colombia has made progress in building its open finance regulatory framework through Decree 1297 of 2022, Law 2294 of 2023 (National Development Plan), and External Circular 004 of 2024 from the Financial Superintendency of Colombia, which defines technical standards, security guidelines, and interoperability for the system. The country is moving toward a mandatory implementation model for supervised entities, which implies the need for robust and standardized technological infrastructure.
The initiative is primarily aimed at supervised entities that must disclose data under standards defined by the SFC (Financial Superintendency of Colombia), as well as fintechs and companies that consume that information with consent to create new services.
“In recent years, the country has made steady progress in building a regulatory framework that facilitates the secure and standardized exchange of financial data. However, the real challenge for the market today lies not in the regulation itself, but in its practical implementation: how to transform that regulatory framework into a reliable and scalable operational infrastructure that can be adopted by the entire financial ecosystem ,” explains Roberto Gaudelli, our Commercial Director.
The alliance aims to bridge the gap between regulation and operational execution through a comprehensive proposal. Prometeo will provide its regional network of banking APIs, which serves as a standardized connectivity layer for secure and consistent access to financial and transactional data. Our infrastructure enables account aggregation, information validation, and payment processing under high standards of availability and compliance.
“Colombia has a clear regulatory framework for Open Finance. The challenge now is to ensure that entities can implement these standards with reliable, scalable infrastructure prepared for high volumes of data exchange,” said Roberto Gaudelli.
Fiskil, for its part, will complement the solution with an enterprise platform geared toward data providers. Its technology allows for the exposure of information in compliance with regulations, the management of user consent, integration with participant directories, and the generation of business and regulatory metrics that facilitate system monitoring and traceability.
The ability to operate under SaaS, PaaS or on-premise models allows adaptation to the needs of entities of different sizes, guaranteeing transparency and alignment with current and future regulatory requirements.
“For Open Finance to function sustainably, institutions need control over consent management, continuous compliance monitoring, and tools that reduce the operational burden. This alliance offers an infrastructure prepared for that challenge ” added Karol Benavides, Regional Director of Fiskil.
The joint solution connects the core banking system with data consumers in a unified architecture, allowing not only compliance with Colombian regulations, but also enabling new business models based on APIs, access to real-time financial information, and monetization of digital services.
