Stockholm, Sweden, January 28, 2026 – Cross-border and instant payments continue to grow worldwide, and so do fraud and misdirected payments. Faster settlement leaves less time to catch errors and stop scams, and recovery becomes harder once funds move. In Europe alone, the European Central Bank and European Banking Authority report total payment fraud value in the EU/EEA reached €4.2 billion in 2024.
In a strategic response to rising fraud, as part of the J.P. Morgan Payments Consultant Implementation Program, Movitz is partnering with Kinexys by J.P. Morgan to bring Kinexys Liink to banks for global payee verification. This will offer banks a near real-time solution that verifies beneficiary account details before payments are sent. Movitz provides software that sends payee verification requests from bank payment channels into Kinexys Liink and returns the response into the bank’s existing payment flow.
Kinexys Liink is one of the world’s first bank-led peer-to-peer blockchain-based data sharing network for secure information exchange able to validate account ownership and other data elements in 70+ countries. Payment rail-agnostic, it enables institutions to share payee verification requests and responses through one network connection while maintaining sovereignty, security, and privacy.
In Europe, the European Union’s Instant Payments Regulation has made Verification of Payee (VoP) a standard control for euro credit transfers, accelerating adoption of payee verification workflows across payment channels. For banks that already run VoP for SEPA credit transfers, the partnership helps extend those checks globally through one connection, rather than building new integrations for each market.
“Banks need payee verification that fits into how payments actually run, and without replacing their existing customer-facing channels,” said Magnus Hedenberg, CEO at Movitz. “This partnership enables banks to connect to Kinexys Liink and apply verification before payments are sent, without rebuilding their existing payment flows.”
Gloria Wan, General Manager of Kinexys Liink at Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, added, “Partnering with Movitz enhances our ability to help banks address one of the most urgent challenges in payments today: ensuring funds reach the intended recipient, securely and efficiently. By integrating Kinexys Liink’s Confirm application directly into banks’ existing payment flows, we’re making it easier for institutions to comply with evolving regulations and protect their customers from fraud, whilst also creating new revenue opportunities. Together, we’re supporting banks as they adapt to a rapidly changing landscape and build greater trust in every transaction.”
A division of J.P. Morgan Payments, Kinexys by J.P. Morgan is the firm’s industry-leading blockchain business unit, transforming the way information, money and assets move around the world. Kinexys Liink is a payment rail-agnostic, blockchain-based information exchange network designed to facilitate frictionless and secure payment-related information exchange while maintaining sovereignty, security, and privacy. Through its Confirm application, Kinexys Liink enables near real-time global validation of bank account ownership, status and transactions, reducing payment errors, mitigating fraud risk, and improving operational efficiency in international payments.
