CHELSEA, Mass. – September 30, 2026 – Metro Credit Union, the largest state-chartered credit union in Massachusetts, is pleased to announce the promotion of Traci Michel to Executive Vice President, recognizing her significant contributions to the credit union's success and continued evolution. In her new role, Michel will oversee the alignment of strategy, operations, and execution across the organization, helping position Metro for continued growth and success.

A 17-year Metro veteran, Traci Michel most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. During her tenure, she has played a pivotal role in many of the organization's most impactful initiatives, including leading a multi-year effort to modernize Metro's core and ancillary banking platforms and establish the technological foundation for the future. She also helped advance the development and expansion of Metro's Digital Branch, making it easier for members to connect with the credit union through chat, video banking, secure messaging, mobile, and branch channels.

“Traci is a trusted leader whose impact can be seen across our organization,” said Robert Cashman, President and CEO of Metro Credit Union. “She has helped strengthen our operations, advance our strategic priorities, and enhance the experience we deliver to members. This promotion reflects both her accomplishments and the important role she will continue to play in shaping what’s ahead for Metro.”

As Executive Vice President, Michel will guide long-term strategic planning, champion collaboration, and strengthen alignment across key business areas through oversight of a cross-functional team of Metro's senior leaders.

Throughout her career at Metro, Michel has strengthened the credit union's technology infrastructure, expanded digital banking capabilities, enhanced operational efficiency, and fostered strategic fintech partnerships that have advanced member service and organizational performance. Her collaborative approach has helped position Metro as one of the region’s most innovative community financial institutions.

“Metro’s success is driven by our people, our culture, and our commitment to improving the financial lives of our members,” said Michel. “I look forward to continuing this important work alongside our talented team to build on that foundation and help shape what’s next for Metro.”
