MDT Expands Relationships with Credit Unions, Prioritizes Innovation in 2022

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Jan. 31, 2023Member Driven Technologies (MDT), a CUSO that hosts the Symitar core processing system from Jack Henryto provide a private cloud alternative for core processing and IT needs, today provided highlights from 2022 including expanded partnerships, successful client conferences and industry recognition.

Last year, MDT continued to form partnerships with new credit unions and had seven credit unions renew their contracts with the CUSO. MDT continued to help credit unions successfully navigate mergers; they supported WyHy Federal Credit Union with mergers in April and December and LOC Credit Union in August.

The company demonstrated its dedication to offering modern technology to help run the entire credit union. MDT partnered with AvidXchange, a provider of accounts payable (AP) automation software and payment solutions for middle market businesses and their suppliers, and Comply-YES!, a CUSO that provides compliance support and services to credit unions. The company also continued to prioritize digital transformation, helping seven clients implement Banno.

MDT successfully hosted its fifth annual CEO Forum in St. Petersburg, Florida last March for MDT credit union CEOs and its ninth annual client conference in May for credit union employees. Both events provide unique avenues for credit unions to meet with MDT and Symitar executives and collaborate with their peers on industry trends and their technology strategy. MDT also hosted its first annual Innovation Celebration Day last November in recognition of the ongoing enterprise-wide innovation initiative the company has prioritized over the last four years.

The CUSO hired 13 new teammates and promoted 17 individuals such as Rick Wettlaufer to vice president of client success and Tracie Loudermilk to senior manager, project management and consulting services. MDT is committed to not only its employees’ success but to bettering the Detroit community as well. The CUSO has a Social Justice Committee which in 2022 partnered with the Pearls of Service Foundation for the second year in a row to offer two $5,000 scholarships for graduating high school students in the city.

MDT received broader industry recognition last year, being recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as a Cool Place to Work in Michigan for the sixth consecutive year, by Arizent and Best Companies Group as a Best Place to Work in FinTech for the third consecutive year and by NACUSO as a CUSO Distinguished Service Award Recipient.

“Last year, the credit union industry continued to live up to its mission: people helping people. I am proud of the role MDT played in that mission as we continued to support credit unions in delivering the efficiencies and experiences needed to properly serve their communities,” said Larry Nichols, CEO and president of MDT. “In 2023, we’ll continue to prioritize lifting up our people, innovating through digital transformation and acting as true partners to our clients, providing modern technology and guidance to credit unions across the country.”
