Hyundai Card and CEKAI Design 3D Motion Credit Card

Korea’s most design-forward financial institution partners with the New York-Tokyo creative collective behind Times Square 3D billboards and K-pop music videos
SEOUL, Korea (October 6, 2026) – Korean financial innovator Hyundai Card has launched the NAVER Hyundai Card Edition3, featuring a paradigm-shifting card design engineered in collaboration with globally acclaimed New York-Tokyo creator collective CEKAI.
The new card series departs from traditional static, flat card aesthetics by introducing 3D motion graphics to the physical plate, inspired by CEKAI’s 3D billboards for global brands like Nike, BMW, and Fendi.
Impressed by its playful, hyper-realistic images popping out of massive digital displays everywhere from New York’s Times Square to Tokyo’s Omotesando, Hyundai Card opted to work with CEKAI to bring dynamic 3D motion graphics to the hands of consumers. The collective had also established its reputation in Korea through its production of music videos for prominent artists like RM and Hyukoh.
From mid-2025, Hyundai Card and CEKAI began brainstorming ways to rethink the credit card medium. Drawing on its deep card design understanding, Hyundai Card took the lead in navigating material selection, packaging, and physical feasibility. Korean tech giant NAVER also provided an overarching design direction based on its brand assets. Within the foundational concept established by Hyundai Card and NAVER, CEKAI was given the creative freedom to come up with a paradigm-shifting card design.
Rather than first creating a flat 2D design and adding motion later, they designed the visuals and dynamic motion simultaneously. Having closely worked with Hyundai Card while going through over 100 draft designs to perfect the final product, they settled on a trio of striking plate options — two plastic and one metal.
Hyundai Card’s Design Lab then translated the designs into physical products. Using advanced laser techniques, they expressed the fine particles of the metal plate, while utilizing special films on the plastic plates to further accentuate the dynamic graphic elements. The resulting cards are: Plus, representing the limitless benefits of NAVER Plus Membership; Neo, channeling futuristic energy through color gradients and geometric graphics; and Logo Metal, where the NAVER logo appears to move thanks to motion graphic design cues.
"Currently, credit cards exist as physical plates, but we can easily imagine a future where they evolve into digital displays or take on entirely different forms,” said Kota Iguchi, CEKAI’s Creative Director and Motion Designer. “This project was incredibly exciting because of those diverse possibilities. I hope NAVER Hyundai Card members can feel that potential as well."
For Hyundai Card, too, design innovation remains a key aspect of its approach to new products. A Hyundai Card spokesperson commented, "This collaboration with CEKAI provided an excellent opportunity to expand the creative universe of Hyundai Card's design. We will continue our efforts to ensure the NAVER Hyundai Card is recognized not only for its premier financial benefits but also as a highly coveted item for its cutting-edge design."
