RALEIGH, N.C. (January 15, 2026) – The Coastal Credit Union Foundation awarded nearly $1 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the region in 2025, impacting more than two million lives. Through partnerships with 70 mission-driven organizations, the Foundation supported programs that strengthened communities, expanded opportunity, and improved quality of life for individuals and families throughout the areas Coastal Credit Union serves.

“These numbers represent far more than dollars granted or programs funded,” explains Emily Nail, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “They represent neighbors supported, students empowered, families stabilized, and communities made stronger through collaboration and shared purpose.”

The Coastal Credit Union Foundation focuses its grantmaking on three core areas, addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing local communities:

·        Financial Wellbeing: The Foundation invests in programs that promote financial education and empowerment.

·        Affordable Housing: Recognizing that stable housing is foundational to community health, the Foundation supports initiatives that expand access to safe, affordable housing for families with modest means.

·        Access to Resources: Grants also fund essential services that ensure access to basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education.

Each grant awarded reflects the Coastal Credit Union Foundation mission, to enrich lives and strengthen communities through thoughtful, strategic philanthropy. Together with donors, partners, and community leaders, the Foundation continues to invest in solutions that create lasting, equitable impact.
