Coastal Credit Union Foundation and Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Award Scholarship Funds to 18 Students

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 30, 2026) – The Coastal Credit Union Foundation, in partnership with Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, is proud to announce 18 recipients of the Credit Union Scholarship Program, totaling $47,000 in merit-based scholarships to support students’ educational goals.
The 18 scholarship recipients are:

Alexa Goble, attending Savannah College of Art and Design
Lacie Holman, attending Auburn University
Andrew Hoppen, attending University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Austin Krueger, attending Duke University
Sebastian LaRoche, attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Liliya Mitchell, attending North Carolina State University
Douglas Murphy, attending Western Carolina University
Madison Northup, attending Appalachian State University
Kai Oduor, attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Elizabeth O'Leary, attending University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Eric Polinsky, attending East Carolina University
Tierrah Simmons, attending University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Sophia Sisolak, attending East Carolina University
Mary Sopp, attending North Carolina State University

Tuition costs are rising at both public and private universities and colleges. Coastal and its Foundation are committed to helping students financially through the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Fund, which oversees scholarships for several credit unions throughout the Carolinas.
