Former Pinwheel and Meta marketing leader joins to drive brand growth and go-to-market strategy
December 3, 2025—New York, NY—april, the leading embedded tax technology platform, today announced Nicole Murphy has joined the company as Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Murphy will oversee april’s go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, and customer engagement initiatives as the company continues to scale its modern, integrated approach to taxes.
Murphy brings more than a decade of experience building and leading marketing strategies that drive product adoption and deliver measurable business impact. She joins april from Pinwheel, a fintech company connecting financial institutions with consumer-permissioned income data, where she served as Head of Marketing and led initiatives that expanded brand visibility and customer growth.
Prior to Pinwheel, Murphy spent several years at Meta in both London and New York, where she was responsible for developing and launching product optimizations that increased utilization across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp’s business tools. Earlier in her career, she worked in account management at Grey, supporting household brands like Walgreens, Ketel One, and Pfizer in developing differentiated campaigns that advanced their growth objectives.
“Nicole’s deep experience in fintech and her proven ability to translate complex technology into meaningful customer stories make her a perfect fit for april,” said Ben Borodach, Co-Founder and CEO of april. “As we continue redefining the tax experience through embedded technology, her leadership will be instrumental in helping more consumers and businesses understand and benefit from april’s solutions.”
“The team at april has already achieved such impressive milestones in the worlds of fintech, AI, and embedded tax. I’m thrilled to join the company at such an exciting moment in its growth,” said Murphy. “Taxes and tax implications should be woven into almost every financial decision, and april’s platform finally brings clarity and intelligence to a process that’s long felt like a black box.”
Murphy holds a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from London Business School.
