AmeriCU Credit Union Employees Spend August Volunteering Across New York State

ROME, NY – SEPTEMBER 8, 2026: Throughout August, AmeriCU Credit Union employees volunteered their time at over 20 community events across New York State, demonstrating the credit union's ongoing commitment to supporting local organizations and strengthening the communities it serves.
From helping families prepare for the school year to supporting local fundraising events, AmeriCU employees came together to make a meaningful impact on their communities. Volunteers participated in Mary Nelson Youth Day and the Johnson Park Back-to-School Backpack Event, where they helped fill and distribute backpacks with school supplies to local students ahead of the new school year.
Employees also rolled up their sleeves at community events throughout AmeriCU's footprint. In Moravia, volunteers participated in the Fillmore Days Bathtub Races, helping support efforts benefiting Fillmore Glen State Park. In Syracuse, AmeriCU employees volunteered at Brew at the Zoo, assisting event organizers and helping ensure the popular community fundraiser ran smoothly for attendees.
“At AmeriCU, giving back is part of who we are. We are proud of our employees for continuing to show up, lend a helping hand, and support meaningful initiatives that make a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Vanessa Szwejbka, AVP Community Relations and Executive Director of the AmeriCU Charitable Foundation. “We especially value the opportunity to work side by side with the organizations we sponsor and support to help strengthen our communities together.”
These volunteer efforts reflect AmeriCU's dedication to investing not only financial resources, but also time and talent in the communities where its members live and work.
