MSU Federal Credit Union
EAST LANSING, Mich. – MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) announced today that it will be opening a full-service branch in downtown Detroit in the fall of 2022. The Marquette Branch will be located at 243 W. Congress Street, at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Congress Street, in the historical Marquette Building, and will include a community room for use by nonprofit organizations and other community partners. The branch will be the Credit Union’s 23rd branch.
The Credit Union is finalizing its planning for the Marquette Branch, and construction is slated to begin in June.
“The goal with this new branch is twofold: to provide existing members with the quality financial services they know and trust in another convenient location, and also, to connect with Detroit residents and welcome them as new members,” said April Clobes, MSU Federal Credit Union President/CEO. “We look forward to helping area residents achieve financial security, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams.”
The Credit Union currently offers a HEROES mortgage option with 100% financing available, an origination fee of only $1,395, and for first-time homebuyers, a discount of $500. This loan is available to firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, healthcare, and active-duty military personnel, veterans, and teachers, as well as all support staff in these fields. The Credit Union also offers a robust first-time homebuyers program, free financial education for community members, and many programs to promote building credit wisely and saving money. Additionally, the Credit Union offers free checking accounts, auto loans, credit cards, business loans, and much more.
The new branch location will initially bring eight new jobs to Detroit. The Credit Union supports many local organizations that support those in the community, and is committed to working in partnership with community members by promoting local artists and small businesses, and by welcoming community groups to utilize the community room that will be part of the new MSUFCU space.
